A study by Dutch researchers published this week in the Archives of Internal Medicine found that cranberries were less effective in preventing recurrent urinary tract infections in women than an antibiotic combination, but that the antibiotic increased the levels of drug-resistant bacteria in the participants compared with cranberries.
