Dr. Schneider Talks to KYW Newsradio about Experimental Drug to Slow Progression of Parkinson’s Disease

Thousands of Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease each year. Dr. Jay Schneider, director of the Parkinson’s Disease Research Unit and professor of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology at Thomas Jefferson University found that injecting patients with a chemical normally found in the brain, GM1 ganglioside, was effective in slowing down the progression of the disease.
