Q&A with Dr. Shah on Jefferson’s “Stroke Robot”

Because time is of the essence in diagnosing and treating many neurovascular diseases, including arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), brain aneurysms and especially stroke, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, launched a stroke robot, also known as Jefferson Expert Teleconsulting (JET) , in connection with its Jefferson Neuroscience Network (JNN). The stroke robot provides JNN hospitals with 24/7 access to vascular neurologists and neurosurgeons for emergency consultative services and the goal is to complement the care provided by community neurologists and/or emergency physicians to those patients presenting with symptoms of a stroke. Watch as Jefferson neurointensivist Syed Omar Shah, MD, MBA answers some questions about the stroke robot.
