Cancer Genetics Q&A with Dr. Veda Giri

Did you know that an estimated 5-10 percent of cancers are caused by changes or mutations in certain genes that are passed along from generation to generation? A genetic risk assessment will allow you to find out if you and/or your family members have a higher risk of developing certain cancers due to inheritance. In honor of National Cancer Prevention Month, Veda Giri, MD, Director of Jefferson Clinical Cancer Genetics Service, answered some common questions about cancer genetics.
