Every two years since 1985, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital hosts a Halloween reunion for their graduates. This year, CBS 3 was there to capture the fun.
There were games, food, balloon animals and face painting. Suzanne Lagner, a nurse in the NICU who organizes the event, was extremely pleased with the great turnout of over 400 parents and children.
The oldest of the graduates was 22 year old Timmy Kelly. Timmy, also known as “Philadelphia’s little good luck charm,” has been singing the National Anthem at Eagles games for 14 years and when he sings, they win. Timmy was born blind with Cerebral Palsy but his story and his voice have inspired many people including Beyonce, the Jonas Brothers, and even Barack Obama.
