Staff in the surgical research department at Jefferson decided to take on a new challenge to raise money and awareness for pancreatic cancer research. Similar to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which has taken social media by storm, the “Bucket of Tennis Balls Challenge” is an effort to overcome this disease. But why tennis balls?

The challenge is meant to honor avid tennis player and Jefferson patient, Joe Strub, who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer four years ago.
