Inflammatory breast cancer is among one of the rarest forms of breast cancer, and is responsible for roughly 4 percent of all breast cancer cases.
Massimo Cristofanilli, MD, director of the Jefferson Breast Care Center recently spoke with the Houston Chronicle about treatment for this disease.
“In the community there’s a lack of understanding about the complexity and aggressive nature of inflammatory breast cancer. It’s frequently treated not in a multidisciplinary fashion but using a sequence of modalities based on local availability,” said Dr. Cristofanilli.
