Some of the nation’s leading thinkers and innovators on health care were at Jefferson recently for for a debate about the Affordable Care Act – Obamacare. The debate, In Sickness and in Health: American Health Care in the Age of Obamacare, presented by the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia was featured in a KYW NewsRadio story.
The debate featured Stephen Klasko, MD, MBA, President and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and the TJUH System, former U.S. Senator Bill Frist (R., Tenn), former Obama administration health advisor Ezekiel Emanuel, MD, PhD and Dan Hilferty, President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross.

Despite the varied politics and positions the participants held , Dr. Klasko noted “we agreed on about 60 percent of the stuff. We agree that things have to change, we agree we have to decrease costs and increase access.”
