Reuniting with Life Savers

In December 2012, Richard Gladstone came to Philadelphia from England to see a Philadelphia Eagles game.  The football fan has a goal to visit every NFL stadium in the U.S.

He made it to the game, but on his way home had a major heart attack on the Broad Street subway.  A Good Samaritan, a physical therapist from Hatboro, immediately began performing CPR and until paramedics arrived and took over.

Gladstone was brought to Jefferson where he underwent bypass surgery for a blocked coronary artery. He returned home without knowing the identity of the Good Samaritan who may have saved his life.

A subsequent story on 6ABC helped track her down, after Gladstone had returned to England.

Gladstone’s return to Philadelphia this week had dual purposes: to meet the woman who saved his life, and to see another Eagles game.  Channel 6 was there to capture their meeting:

Gladstone attended Thursday night’s Eagles game with many of the nurses who cared for him at Jefferson.
