Disparities in Health Care Symposium in the News

news-iconDisparities in health care, and the challenge of eliminating them, were the issues examined at a recent Jefferson symposium titled “We’ve Come So Far, But Where Are We Going?”

Third-year residents in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Jefferson asked a panel of physicians, researchers and clergy to speak about the role that race and ethnicity play in medical care.

Ronald Myers, PhD, a medical sociologist in the Department of Medical Oncology at JeffersonRichard Wender, MD, chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Deborah Witt, MD, assistant professor and anesthesiologist, Rehana Jan, MD, were the Jefferson physicians on the panel.
