Cardiovascular disease is the biggest health issue facing people across the nation. Heart disease, stroke and vascular disease are all among the most common reasons people need emergency and hospital care.
Education, prevention and early detection are critically important to reduce the toll of cardiovascular disease.
That’s why Jefferson has partnered with the nonprofit organization, Dare to C.A.R.E. And why next month we are offering Free Vascular Screenings for eligible individuals at our easy to access Jefferson at the Navy Yard offices.
On Wednesday, November 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. you can participate in an education session hosted by the specialists from the Jefferson Vascular Center. Those who attend that session can then get a free vascular ultrasound screening on Thursday, November 15.
The screenings are for carotid artery stenosis, abdominal aortic aneurysm, high blood pressure, and peripheral vascular disease. If you are 60 years of age or older you are eligible or if you are 50 or above and have hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes or a history of smoking.
To register for this important educational and screening event call 1-800-JEFF-NOW (800-533-3669) or register online here.
